ARTICLE FORMAT

Original Article

Title Page

  • Title: Provide a concise and informative title. Titles are used in indexing and search systems; avoid abbreviations and formulas.

  • Author Names and Affiliations: Clearly list each author's first name, middle initial, and last name. Affiliation addresses should follow, with superscript letters indicating each author's corresponding institution.

  • Corresponding Author: Identify the corresponding author responsible for all communications during the review and publication process. This must be the submitting author.

  • Present Address: If applicable, include a 'Present address' footnote using superscript Arabic numerals. The main affiliation should reflect where the work was conducted.

Abstract

A non-structured abstract is required, summarizing background, objective, methods, results, and conclusion. It must be self-contained and should not include references or unexplained abbreviations.

Keywords

Provide five keywords after the abstract. Use terms compatible with Index Medicus and avoid repeating words from the title.

Introduction

Briefly provide background and state the aim(s) of the study. Avoid discussing methods or summarizing results in this section.

Methods

Use subheadings to organize this section. Include enough detail for reproducibility. Follow the appropriate reporting guidelines (e.g., STROBE, CONSORT, ARRIVE, PRISMA). Mention supplier details for reagents when relevant. Cite previously published methods and describe any modifications. For epidemiologic studies, include the setting, location, and timeframe.

Results

Present findings clearly and concisely using subheadings. Include tables and figures within the text near their first mention.

Discussion

Interpret the study's findings, focusing on their significance. Avoid excessive citations or literature reviews. Do not use subheadings.

Conclusions

Briefly summarize the main conclusions drawn from the study’s results. Do not cite previous studies in this section.

Declarations

  • Ethics Approval: Include the name of the institution and approval number.

  • Acknowledgments: Credit individuals who assisted in the research or manuscript preparation.

  • Competing Interests: State any conflicts of interest, or include: “The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest.”

  • Funding: List sources of financial support. If no funding was received, state: “This study did not receive any specific grant from funding agencies in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors.”

  • Underlying Data: Indicate data availability. Example statements: “Derived data supporting the findings of this study are available from the corresponding author on request,” or “All data underlying the results are available as part of the article and no additional source data are required.”

References

Do not include references in the abstract. Ensure all citations are accurate and formatted correctly. Refer to the Reference section for formatting details and see published examples for guidance.

Tables

Submit tables as editable text, not images. Embed them in the text close to their first reference. Avoid vertical lines and cell shading.

Figures

Use Avenir font and maintain high resolution. Apply the Scalpelium color tone; include it as one of the colors if multiple are used. Follow the guidelines in the Table and Figures section.
