About the Journal

Scalpellum : Journal of Surgery and Clinical Research is an open-access, international peer-reviewed journal and a scholarly journal published by Surgical Residency Program Faculty of Medicine Universitas Riau. Scalpellum is published two times per year (June and December). The Journal aims to bridge and integrate the intellectual, methodological, and substantive diversity of medical scholarship and to encourage a vigorous dialogue between medical scholars and practitioners. The Journal welcomes contributions that promote the exchange of ideas and rational discourse between practicing educators and medical researchers worldwide.

Aims and Scope:

Scalpellum invites articles and papers from fundamental to various practical applications of surgery (review article, original article, case report) but not limited to:

Manuscripts submitted to Scalpellum should follow the templates provided in the journal website.

Article Classifications

To enhance clarity and consistency in categorizing published works, articles submitted are classified as:
a). Original Articles: Original research, research article, or full paper
b). Review Articles: All systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and bibliometric studies will be categorized as Review Articles.
c). Case Report: All case reports will be classified as Case Report.
